Working for a ski resort such as Sunshine Village is an amazing opportunity. We hire a variety of nationalities at Sunshine Village and turn them into raving fans of our resort. The majority of our positions are seasonal and run from November to May. Any permanent full-time positions are posted on our Current Vacancies section. We do not generally hire for summer positions, as the resort is closed for skiing/snowboarding.

Banff Hiring Fair - October

Details - We will be hosting our Annual Hiring Fair in Banff again this year to fill the remainder of our open seasonal roles. Some positions will have been filled by this time, so if you are in Banff before then make sure to visit us at the Banff office from early September.
When – Wednesday, October 13, 2010. 8:30am – 4pm.
How - In order to attend the Fair you must book an interview spot. Email your resume and a brief cover letter to jobs@skibanff.com stating ‘Hiring Fair’ in the subject line or apply online to ‘Seasonal Openings.’ We will review resumes and successful applicants will be contacted with an interview time and further information. You can also call or visit the Banff Office for a booking when we are open. At the Hiring Fair we will initially evaluate your related qualifications and suitability in a "pre-screen meeting" to create 1-2 job specific interviews for you. The hiring process may take a few hours.

Where - The Banff International Hostel/HI Banff Alpine Centre on Tunnel Mountain Road. If you are in town, please visit us at our BANFF OFFICE from – Mid-August to mid-October. A Human Resources representative will be available for information and resume collections. Look on our website later in the summer for times, days & directions/location.

Banff Office – September and October

Our new Banff office is located at 215 Banff Ave, the upper level of Sundance Mall (The Fudgery faces the street). You can access our side door beside the Ski Big Three offices. A Human Resources representative will be based at the office on Sept 1 & 2; and then usually Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 8:30am-4:30pm from September 7th until early October. If you are living or visiting Banff this summer, this is your perfect opportunity to visit us regarding employment opportunities, questions, information, interview appointments for later dates (but before the Hiring Fair). Please note this is NOT a job fair.

International

AUSTRALIA – with IEP (International Exchange Program). To be held in August in Brisbane (4th), Sydney (6th) and Melbourne (7th). We will be participating in this show again, contact www.iep.org.au for more information & to book an interview. When these interview spots are full applicants must consider our other interview methods, as we will not be holding any additional interviews in Australia.

UK, CZECH REPUBLIC & IRELAND – with Go International. In person interviews to be held in July in London (9th & 10th) and Prague (13th). SKI SCHOOL APPLICATIONS:

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard School is currently looking for qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Ski and Snowboard Instructors for the 2010/2011 season.  Please send a resume and cover letter to our Program Director at colleen.collison@skibanff.com . In order to instruct at Sunshine Village you must have your CASI or CSIA Level 1 as a minimum or International equivalent, and a valid visa to work in Canada, we will not sponsor first year Instructors. Sunshine does not hire Instructors through our out of town Fairs.

Keys to success for your interview:

1. Cover letter and resume - Providing us with an updated version of your cover letter and resume will make it easier for our team to set you up with the most appropriate interviews.
2. Written reference letters - Because we complete reference checks for all successful applicants, it is to your advantage to provide us with written recommendations from previous employers. Otherwise we require a phone number or email address.
3. Proof of Visa - Please bring with you a photocopy of your work visa to your interview.
4. Dress to impress - If you make a good impression and look the part, you will increase your chances of securing a position for the season.
