What is the Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center?

Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center was founded in 2001 by Jamie McCulloch. Jamie founded the program as a way to share his passion for skiing and snow sports with his sister. Jamie's passion in working with Canadian Adaptive Snowsports (CADS) with skiers and snowboarders of all abilities has made the Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Center very successful. Each year, skiers and snowboarders with accessibility challenges travel across the world to ski with Jamie and his team at RMASC.

Where is Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center Located?

You can find the Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center at the top of the Sunshine Gondola between the Village gondola station and the Salomon Rental Tent.

Who does RMASC serve?

Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center serves skiers and snowboarders with all abilities. The program uses adaptive ski or snowboard techniques suited to each individual student's needs. Some examples include sit-ski, visually impaired skiers, and students with autism, down syndrome, and more. Jamie has even successfully led blind skiers down Delirium Dive! RMASC is a safe space where people of all ages and abilities are welcomed, accepted and encouraged.

Support Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center

At Sunshine we're honoured to work and host Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sport Center. Each year we work to raise funds for the non-profit so they can continue their work in making snow sports accessible to all. Money raised from our community ski day goes towards RMASC for equipment, and each year we invite you to experience what it's like to be an adaptive skier or snowboarder at Shred-ability, all in support of RMASC.
