2020/21 Opening Day Update.

The Ski & Snowboard season kicks off on Monday, Nov. 9th!

It’s official Sunshiners, thanks to the snow we received this week, we at Banff Sunshine Village will open for the 2020/21 Ski and Snowboard season on Monday, November 9th. 

Our team is extremely excited to welcome you back to carve up Canada’s Best Snow as you enjoy the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Throughout the off-season, we have worked closely with Alberta Health Services (AHS) on our Covid-19 operating procedures. This season, we recommend all guests wear a non-medical face mask, with a neck gaiter. Mask/face coverings will be mandatory on all our lifts and in all our facilities. While at Sunshine, for the health of our community, we kindly ask that you follow safe social distancing practices and abide by our signage. This season, we are focused and committed to being a safe and healthy place for you and your family to recreate. 

For our opening week, we will have our Sunshine Express shuttle busses running daily from Banff to Sunshine Village. If you need shuttle transportation you can find our bus schedule here.

We are pleased to announce that our ski and snowboard season will kick off with Angel, Strawberry, Wawa, Jackrabbit, and Wolverine. If you are keen to hit the park, Strawberry will have a rail park set up with 20 features!

If you are coming to celebrate the start of the season with us, discounted lift tickets will be available for all skiers and snowboarders. Prices will be adjusted as we open more terrain to ski and ride.

What Else will be Open?

This season, we will have grab and go options available for food, and select restaurants open. As lodge space is limited, we encourage all guests to pack their own food and choose to eat before or after the lunch rush.

Our Ski School and Rental Shop will also be open starting Monday.

Sunshine Mountain Lodge, our ski-in, ski-out hotel will open on Thursday, November 12^th.  For guest convenience, our check-in is located at the base of the gondola.

Arrive Prepared!

While we will not require reservations to access the slopes, we recommend all guests to arrive with their Season Pass, Sunshine Super Card or Pre-Paid Lift Ticket. Coming with your lift ticket or pass will allow us to reduce the lines at our ticket windows and guest services.

You can pick up your 2020/21 Banff Sunshine Season Pass at our Calgary Snow Central (open Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 6:00 PM & Saturday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM), or at Ski Big 3's Adventure Hub in Banff. On the mountain, pick up your season pass at Guest Services. For speedy pass pick up on Opening Day, be sure to sign your online waiver in advance here.
