Standish Express & Ski Out Now Open!
Early season at Sunshine Village keeps getting better and better.
Thanks to a very generous Mother Nature, the 2020/21 ski and snowboard season is off to an incredible start at Banff Sunshine Village. In the last 7 days alone, we have received nearly 90cm of that fresh, light, dry snow we all love. With the snow falling and accumulating in the Rockies, our team has been working hard to open more of our mountain terrain for you to carve up.
This afternoon, Friday, November 20th, our Mountain Operations team gave the “go ahead” to open Standish AND the ski out for the 2020/21 winter season (woohooo). Right now, all runs off Standish Express are open except for Waterfall.
Standish Express is a favorite of skiers and snowboarders for its unique mountain terrain. The lift services playful runs for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. While the high speed of Standish makes the chair perfect for getting in those hot laps, the ski out is the best way to end your Sunshine day.
At Banff Sunshine, we now have 8 chairlifts (Great Divide Express, Angel Express, Teepee Town LX, Standish Express, Strawberry Express, Wolverine Express, Wawa Quad, and Jackrabbit), a magic carpet, our gondola, a 20+ feature terrain park and our ski out open.
There’s lots of fresh snow waiting for you! Visiting us this weekend? Plan ahead and skip the ticket line with a Mobile Lift Ticket. We are excited to offer you $10 off the regular ticket window price when you purchase a Mobile Ticket. To read more about how you can skip the line and save cash on Sunshine lift tickets, click here.
This season our number one goal is to keep our mountain and community healthy so that we can continue to safely welcome you and your family to carve up Canada’s Best Snow. This winter, we are requiring all guests to wear a facemask when riding our gondola and lifts, when standing in line, and when entering any of our facilities.
Construction on our sprung structures is nearing completion. We are hopeful that we will be able to have both our Village Sprung Structure and our Goat’s Eye Sprung Structure open by the end of November. Stay tuned to our social media for an official announcement. If you are bringing your own food, you can find picnic lunch areas in our Old Gondola Sliver and at Goat’s Eye Lodge. We do encourage you to eat your lunch on the slopes, or to tailgate at your car in our parking lot.
Ski you on the slopes!
