Sunshine Village Gondola Update.
Dear Sunshiners,
As an organization, our guests, team members, and community's health and safety are our top priority. Our goal this season is to stay open so we can continue to provide you with a world-class outdoor recreation experience we believe is essential to mental health and wellbeing.
With cases of the novel coronavirus continuing to climb in our province, we at Banff Sunshine Village have made the decision, in an effort to reduce transmission of COVID-19 further, to only load our gondola cabins with guests who arrive together. Our gondola policy change will go into effect tomorrow, December 6th, 2020.
For most of the ski season to date, we have been offering a “no-mix” line for our gondola, which the vast majority of guests have opted for. Our decision to only load our gondola with parties who have travelled to Sunshine together merely formalizes what is already happing. For guests looking to skip the gondola line, we recommend afternoons or visiting mid-week. On a typical day, our gondola line evaporates by 11 am.
All of our other COVID-19 policies, including the use of a face mask, will remain in effect. We will continue to require all guests and team members to wear a face mask when waiting in line for, and riding, our Sunshine Gondola, chairlifts and in buildings.
We are all in this together. At Banff Sunshine Village, we believe it our responsibility to work together to bend the curve and reduce the spread of COVID-19 here in Alberta.
From our family to yours, we thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Banff Sunshine Village
