For the Love of Winter with Shannon-Ogbani Abeda
Hey Sunshiners, let us formally introduce you to Shannon-Ogbani Abeda!
Raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta, alpine skier and ski cross athlete Shannon grew up on the slopes of Banff Sunshine Village.
Born in 1996 to Eritrean immigrants, the young athlete was shaped by the mountains from a young age that now influences his career.
Shannon began his Olympic venture during the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, earning the title as the first winter athlete to represent Eritrea in the Olympics.
In 2018, Shannon successfully finished 61st in the giant slalom event during the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
As Shannon continues to push forward for the next Olympics, the soon-to-be 3X Olympian stopped by to chat with us!
