Thank you, Ladies!

Thank you to those who celebrated International Women’s Day on the slopes of Banff Sunshine Village. On March 8, 2024 $10 from each Adult lift ticket and $5 from each Child lift ticket sold at the ticket window was donated to girls in sports.

Skiers and riders flocked to the ticket window in the village in support of KidSport. Banff Sunshine sold 194 Adult Full day tickets, 33 Child Full day tickets, 20 Youth Full day tickets and 24 Senior Full day tickets – raising a total of $2,325 for KidSport Calgary with help from our Sunshine community.

Girls are three times more likely to drop out of sport than boys. Donating to KidSport directly supports girls in sports, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their participation.

In 2023, KidSport Calgary facilitated the registration of 97 kids for skiing and 24 kids for snowboarding, alleviating financial constraints amounting to $42,533 in total costs. KidSport deeply appreciates the invaluable benefits that sport brings to children, youth, and families, and by collaborate with organizations that share our belief, sheds light on the courage and resilience of women.

Let’s hear it for the ladies of Sunshine and beyond. We would like to share a special thanks to every Sunshiner who purchased a lift ticket at our ticket window on March 8th, 2024!
