April Fool's Day Past!
The silliest day of the ski and snowboard season is right around the snowbank! In true Sunshine fashion, our team has cooked up a new and ridiculous announcement for the first of April.
If you’ve been following us on social media for a while, you’ve probably gotten a chuckle out of one or more of our April Fool’s Day jokes. Here’s a roundup of a few of our past pranks.
2016: New to Skiing, Skip the Lessons and Ski Like a Pro With Salomon’s Self Skiing Ski
In 2016, we partnered with Salomon Skis to launch self-skiing skis! A totally new and revolutionary technology that promised to speed up your learning process and make your experience on the slopes a lot more fun. We didn’t know the impact that would have on our Ski School, but we needed to test them out, so skiers knew how to use them in their next visit. Take a look at the video below.
2019: Enjoy Your Meal Always Fresh, Sometimes Frozen, On the Slopes.
This year, after months of logistical planning, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of “Sunshine Eats”, our new on-mountain delivery service. With the Sunshine Eats App guests could order menu items from any of our restaurants and have their lunch (or snacks) skied directly to them! However, in extreme weather, our insulated delivery bags can be, well, useless. That said with Sunshine Eats your food will always be fresh, but sometimes frozen.
2022: Sunshine: The Musical
After the pandemic in 2022, Banff Sunshine had to rebrand their marketing approach to bring the magic of the mountains back to life, post-covid. The world-class slopes of Banff Sunshine changed its tune to become a world-class musical destination. Every Sunshine employee must sing on the job! Check out this April Fool’s Day prank below!
2023: Canada's Best Snow Ships Worldwide!
As of April 1st, 2023, we began selling pints of Canada’s Best Snow. Fresh, real, Rocky Mountain snow to take home with you! For just $41 you can get your mitts on a jar of hand packed powder straight from out Rocky Mountain slopes. They make the perfect souvenir or gift - quality of snow not guaranteed.
2024: Forest Bathing – Now Available at Banff Sunshine!
In 2024, Banff Sunshine introduced forest bathing, an exclusive Banff Sunshine experience that allows Sunshiners to reconnect with nature. Reservations were FREE for any hotel guest, season pass holder or lift ticket holder. These tubs are set up amongst the slopes of sunshine with privacy and warm water not guaranteed!
