Strap Into Expert-Only Riding at Sunshine Village

The famous Delirium Dive and the South Side Chutes are open!

Thanks to Mother Nature and our mountain operations team, our expert-only, steep and deep terrain is now open for the 2024/25 season! Yahoooo!

Strap in for a wild ride at the top Goat's Eye Express for the South Side Chutes. Conveniently facing the southside, these chutes provide skiers and riders with an array of terrain, from gentle steeps to thrilling pitches.

Positively intimidating for any advanced rider, even the best skiers and snowboarders fight the butterflies as they hike up and drop into the South Side Chutes.

Take on even more terrain this season on our Rocky Mountain slopes. The Delirium Dive is one of the world's most daring freeride zones, just a hike away from the Great Divide Express Quad chairlift.

Banff’s best kept secret, “The Dive,” is packed with chutes boasting 2,500 ft of steep vertical, wide-open bowls filled with Canada’s Best Snow and acres of wild mountain terrain to explore, guaranteed to satisfy even the most insatiable riders.

Named one of CNN’s best runs in the world, riders taking on the Canadian Rockies' biggest and boldest Delirium Dive must have a 457khz transceiver, prob and shovel in their backpack along with experienced partner to dive.

The Dive is reserved for advanced riders comfortable on double black runs and are required to have avalanche and snow knowledge. Helmets are strongly recommended.  Before you Dive into delirium, we recommend you are comfortable skiing the steep terrain off Standish Express.

Challenge yourself to Banff's most technical runs with a lesson from our Snow School. During a Dive lesson, our Snow Pro’s will start by riding the Virgin Chutes with you found on Mount Standish. Sign up for a Delirium Dive lesson here or call Sunshine Ski and Snowboard School at 403 762 6560.

As it is still early in the season, ski and ride with extra caution as there may be exposed rocks and other unmarked hazards.

A ski down our South Side Chutes and the Delirium Dive is a wild ride. One we highly recommend you add to your must-ski list when you are visiting Banff Sunshine.
